As a precautionary measure, to promote social distancing, and limit the spread of COVID-19, passport acceptance services have been suspended indefinitely.
Please note: The U.S. Passport Agency has advised that applicants should expect routine processing time to be four to six weeks from time of application submittal until receipt of passport. If passport is needed in less than six weeks, expedite processing is under three weeks for an additional $60 fee.
To obtain a U.S. Passport Book/Card you will need to present all of the following items at the Clerk’s office:
- Proof of citizenship (certified birth certificate or original naturalization certificate).
- A valid picture identification (driver’s license).
- One 2 inch x 2 inch passport photo (photo service available).
- A completed (but not signed) Passport application, which is available at the County Clerk’s Office or online.
- Appropriate fees: You will make 2 payments via Check, Cashier’s Check or Money Order. One will be to the US Department of State and one to Douglas County Clerk for the amounts outlined below.
- ALL applicants must be present when applying, including all minors regardless of age.
